This is what I’m working on right now (I scrapped Momentum Trend Pro). I’m listing it here so the one script I currently have for sale doesn’t look lonely. I’m not sure if I will sell it or not when it’s finished. If I do it will be very expensive and I’m unlikely to care if anyone actually buys it, because I made it for myself to make money trading with.
The main thing it does is tell you if market structure is bullish or bearish (it also has some neat momentum signals). Why on earth would anyone pay lots of money for that versus True Market Structure (free), or Counter-Strike Pro (pretty reasonably priced)?
Underneath the simplicity is a lot of complexity:
- My own way of measuring price pivots, which is scalable and robust (GTFO with your Williams Pivots).
- An original way of measuring momentum oscillator pivots (which I’ve given out for free as the OscillatorPivots library because it’s not all about money).
- My concept of Momentum Failure Patterns taken to its elegant, logical conclusion. This makes Beyond Market Structure the grown-up version of Counter-Strike.
It’s also the result of hundreds of hours of testing, which forced me to abandon the idea that there is one objectively true market structure. Interpretation of market structure is subjective (yes, it can be rule-based, but trust me – your choice and application of rules is subjective). There is, however, a dance of price and momentum that is real and objective, hidden and in plain sight at the same time. Beyond Market Structure translates this dance into something tradable, and it resolves the tension between objective and subjective by giving market structure an adjustable sensitivity.
One single sensitivity setting controls the sensitivity of all of the components at once within a coordinated range. Every sensitivity setting picks out interesting levels. For spikier assets, longer-term trades, or if you want to use this structure for a bias and some other signal for entries within that bias, more conservative settings will be better. And if you want to take structure changes as signals themselves, you probably want a more sensitive setting.
I could go on about timeframes and signals, but let’s see what actually makes it into the light.
